Developing an Effective Resume

A resume is one of the most important documents you will need for your job search. As you begin the process of updating your resume, please click on the links below to view professional resume samples you can download and use.

A few things to remember:

• For entry-level opportunities, one-page resumes are preferred by employers. A two-page resume is acceptable for experienced candidates. Most employers spend fewer than 20-30 seconds reviewing a resume. 
• Use a conservative font such as Times New Roman, Arial, Arial Narrow, or similar styles. The font size should range from 10 to 12 point. Please do not use a font size smaller than 10 point.
• Leave some white space. Don't crowd the margins and use vertical line spacing of at least 1.2 lines.
• Your resume should be an honest representation of your skills, experiences, and qualifications.
