Yvonne duFort Evans was elected to the Charleston Citywide Local Development Corporation (LDC) Board of Directors as assistant secretary. Yvonne is also a Past President of the Alumni Association.


Sarah Lynn Gainey is president of the employee assistance program, SAVE Incorporated, based in Charleston, SC.  Sarah has been with the company since 1982.  She is also a Past President of the College of Charleston Alumni Association.


Johnny Warren has been named partner at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, LLP. He practices in the area of real estate development and corporate transactions in the firm's Charleston office.


Jerry Baker has come back to his alma mater as the new executive director of the Cougar Club.  During his 15 years as athletic director (from 1991 to 2007), Baker helped lead the Cougars' transition from NAIA to NCAA Division I. He was also instrumental in improving Charleston's sports facilities including the Cougars' $45 million basketball and volleyball facility and the renovations to the Patriots Point Athletics Complex. Jerry was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013.   

Sherwood Miler has been elected president of the College of Charleston Alumni Association.  Sherwood is the president of Miler Properties in Summerville, SC.  He and his wife Julie have four children, three of whom are recent CofC graduates. Sherwood also serves on the College of Charleston Foundation Board.

Randell Stoney was recognized by the South Carolina Super Lawyers as a top rated civil litigation attorney. Randell is an attorney with Barnwell Whaley Patterson & Helms in Charleston.


Jim O'Hern was elected to a four-year term to serve as District Judge in Fort Smith, Arkansas in March.  He will take office on January 1, 2017.  He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith and the faculty advisor for the Iota Mu Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi. 


Carol Ann Hickman Bailey is an associate professor of sociology in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences  at Virginia Tech and has been conferred the title of "associate professor emerita" by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors. Carol Ann has been at Virginia Tech since 1987 and a member of the university's Academy of Teaching Excellence since 1992.  She has been the recipient of numerous teaching awards during her tenure at Virginia Tech. 

Creighton Evans is the priest and rector at All Souls Anglican/Episcopal Church in Okinawa, Japan.

Laura Jenkins Thompson is the 2016 recipient of the DAR American Heritage Award for Embroidery. SAGA (Smocking Arts Guild of America), an international association dedicated to the preservation of fiber arts, has named an award in her honor, called the "Laura Jenkins Thompson Embroidery Award"  given annually to a recipient whose work exemplifies excellence in execution and creativity in design and color. Laura is the art director at Mason Preparatory School in Charleston.


David Farrow is the managing editor of the Charleston Mercury and is also a columnist for the paper.

Elizabeth Colbert-Busch was recently honored by The Center for Women at their Be Brave Brunch in Charleston. Elizabeth was part of a three-person panel discussion focussing on issues facing women in South Carolina and across the nation.   She is the director of business development  for the Clemson University Restoration Institute and a member of the College of Charleston Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Kim Moorer McDermott began her career as an English teacher at Wando High School in the 1980s, and she retired 25 years later after teaching seventh grade honors English at Moultrie Middle School. Now she has turned her hand to writing and published her first suspense romance, "Hiding," with The Wild Rose Press in August 2015.


Steve Baker has been promoted to executive vice president and general manager for Southern Wine & Spirits of America's South Carolina division. Previously, he was vice president and general sales manager.

Nita  Sims Vaughan has retired from Dominion/Virginia Power after 34 years and lives in Richmond. 


Scott Barnhill is a real estate broker associate at Keller Williams Realty in Savannah, GA and Sea Breeze Real Estate on Hilton Head Island, SC.

Sylleste Helms Davis has recently retired from Santee Cooper where she was the supervisor of data services.  She and her husband, Mike, live in Moncks Corner, SC. She was certified as winner of House Seat 100, which stretches from Summerville to Moncks Corner, SC. Sylleste is a member of the College of Charleston Alumni Association Board of Directors. 

Gretchen Shay Saussy is the business development manager at Sigmon Construction and Design in Raleigh, NC.


Carol Stiff Hubbard was elected to the Charleston Citywide Local Development Corporation (LDC) Board of Directors as vice president. Carol is a partner at Hubbard Davis CPAs, LLP in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Sharon Weeks Sellers was named the South Carolina Human Resources Professional of the Year. She is the president of Charleston-based SLS Consulting, LLC. The Award for Professional Excellence in Human Resources Management, sponsored by Ogletree Deakins, recognizes creative approaches and consistently high performance that benefits the individual's company or organization and the business and professional community.

John Tiller was recently inducted into the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (NADN), a professional association for attorney mediators and arbitrators. He is an attorney in the Charleston office of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A.


Stephanie Irick Boehm is the advertising sales representative for Charleston Coffee News.

John Busch is the founder of Blue Heron International, a management consulting firm based in South Carolina  John serves on the College's Board of Trustees.

Bill Morton has worked and lived in New York City since 2001.  Bill works for The Nature Conservancy where he manages board affairs for the Conservancy's 24-member New York State Board of Trustees as well as serving on the Conservancy's New York executive leadership team.  The Nature Conservancy works to protect the lands and waters on which all life depends, and that includes humans!

Nadine Orsoff Vogeland her husband, Doug, hosted a reception for CofC accepted students at their home in New Jersey in March along with their daughters, Gretchen and Rachel. Nadine is founder and president of Springboard Consulting, Inc.


Mike Finch Jr. and Jen Clark Finch '87 live in northeast Columbia, and celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last fall.  They have three children: Trey, Riley and Clark. Riley is a junior at CofC and Clark is hoping to be there in August of 2017. Mike is a senior partner with Sandhills Pediatrics in Columbia and serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the S.C. Medical Association.

Eleanor Barefoot Smythe has joined Lois Lane Properties in Charleston as a sales associate. She has more than 10 years of real estate experience.

Kent Wallace-Meggs has been named chief philanthropy officer of the Winston-Salem Symphony in Winston-Salem, NC.  She is responsible for securing revenues required to support institutional operating requirements and is an integral member of the Symphony's executive leadership team, working closely with the Board of Directors and supervising fundraising staff. 


Christine Gantt Sorenson is a trial lawyer at Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A., concentrating in employment defense litigation. She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® and South Carolina Super Lawyers® for Employment & Labor Law, and named to Greenville Business Magazine's Legal Elite of the Upstate for Labor & Employment Law.  Her daughter, Addie Hoffman, is currently a student at the College of Charleston.

Maura Hogan is a culture and lifestyle writer whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, Gourmet and Garden & Gun, among other publications. Maura has previously worked in marketing in the publishing industry, holding positions including promotion director of The New Yorker; copy director at Time Inc., and copy manager at The New York Times. She currently works as director of advancement communications at the College of Charleston. She received her masters in creative writing at Trinity College Dublin.

Caroline Lesesne is a senior vice president and private banker for FineMark National Bank and Trust  and will assist the company in opening a bank in Charleston, SC.

Angie Pitts is retiring after 28 years of teaching special education in the Charleston County School District.  She has joined the Charleston Wine + Food Festival as a culinary talent manager. 


Paige Reese Whitaker was elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 48,000-member State Bar of Georgia.  Paige is deputy district attorney for appeals with the Fulton County District Attorney's Office.  She received her law degree from Duke University School of Law.


Tradd Newton has been named the 2016 recipient of the Philanthropy Leadership Community Award from the National Children's Alliance. He was chosen for his long-term volunteer service to The Dee Norton Lowcountry Children's Center.

Bea Walters Smith is the director of development and foundation scholarships at USC Upstate in Spartanburg.


Dana Dyer Baker is the global account manager at Conference Direct, a company that provides professional event management and meeting planning services.

Tracy Simmons Clifford is the president of Tracy Clifford, LLC, a company providing practical and cost-effective accounting, financial and strategic planning services to small and mid-size companies.  Tracy lives in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Beverly Fludd  (MAT '94) is an 8th grade history and  math teacher with Prince William County Public Schools in Woodbridge, VA.1991 Edward Hillis the managing director at RentWNC, a property management company, in Hendersonville, NC.

Flint Weiss is a senior manager of software development at in Seattle, WA. Flint and his teams manage digital royalties and accounting for all of the Amazon digital businesses. They ensure that digital content providers get paid accurately and on time and that the financials are properly recorded in Amazon's accounting systems.   


Johnnie Baxley has been elected vice president of the College of Charleston Alumni Association.  Johnnie is an attorney and partner with  Willson, Jones, Carter & Baxley specializing in workers compensation.  He and his wife, Michelle, have two daughters and live in Mount Pleasant, SC.  Johnnie also serves on the Cougar Club Board.

June Warren Fleming is a property manager at Colliers International in Charleston, SC.

John Rutenberg has been with TD Bank for five years and was recently promoted to regional vice president.  He and his family live in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Leslie Wilson is the field services coordinator at The Budd Group, a leading facilities services company, delivering high quality janitorial, maintenance, and landscaping services to clients throughout the Southeast.  The company is based in Greenville, SC.


Yvette Porcelli Grist is a new home consultant at K. Hovnanian Homes in Summerville, SC.

Forest Mahan has been named the fifth president of Aiken Technical College in Aiken, SC.  He was formerly the vice president for academic affairs and student services at Northeasten Technical College.

Tripp Smith is the enterprise account executive of sales solutions at LinkedIn in San Francisco.

Susan West Story, her husband, Jimmy and son, Mac, live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she is a contract specialist for the State Department's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement's Africa/Middle East Office.  She teleworks from Rio de Janeiro where her husband is the US Consul General.

Angel Brown Touwsma and her husband, David, announce the birth of their son, Brown Touwsma, on April 21, 2016.  Brown joins his two big sisters.  Angel is a vice president on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and marketing director for Starwood and W Hotels in Atlanta.

Tim Whisenand is living and working in Myitkyina, Myanmar teaching at a small "international" school, all local students, but most of them will go out of the country for university - maybe even to CofC!


Amanda  Donnelly Callander is an attorney at Clawson and Staubes, LLC and is president-elect of the Rotary Club of St. Andrews - Charleston.  She recently attended the 107th annual Rotary International Convention in Seoul, South Korea, along with more than 45,000 Rotary members from 160 different countries gaining new insights on how to improve lives and bring positive, lasting change to communities around the world.  

Vinnie Cerchione just completed 18 years with the US Army and was promoted to Major on August 1, 2016. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in organizational management with the intent to retire from the Army in 2018.

Kellie  Roe Kenny is an enterprise account executive at in New York.

Kathy Olmstead Richardson was sworn into the Horry County Board of Education as the temporary District 4 representative. She'll serve until January of 2017, when a new member is elected. Kathy is the executive assistant to the CEO of the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce.  

Danny Rowe is senior vice president of home market sales for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated in Charlotte, NC.


Chris Day is a faculty member at the College and an expert on African politics. He delivered the World Affairs Council of Charleston's final talk of the season discussing "The Conflicts of Africa: New Forms, New Issues, New Worries for the United States." Chris received his master's degree from Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.

Devin Heller is the principal consultant of Heller Family Investments in Tulsa, OK.

Chris LaMar is a mission planning support engineer at Fort Carson, CO supporting the 10th Special Forces Group.  Previously, he was at Charleston Air Force Base for 12 years supporting the C-17.

Kristy Clark Lopez joined Larry Powers, CPA, PLLC in Mooresville, NC as a CPA and tax senior.

Kylon Middleton had the honor of introducing Jennifer Pinckney, widow of the late Rev. Clemente Pinckney of Mother Emanual AME Church at The Center for Women's Be Brave Brunch in Charleston. Kylon is the pastor of Mt. Zion  AME Church and a very close friend of the Pinckney family.

Dorothy Porcher- Holland is a vacation specialist for all Disney destinations at Ears of Experience, a personal vacation planning company based in Charleston, SC.  She provides booking, planning and concierge services, at no extra cost, for all Disney destinations.

Michael Renault is president-elect of the College of Charleston Alumni Association and a commercial area executive with First Citizens Bank in Charleston.  He and his wife, Courtney, have two sons.

Allison Burke Thompson has been elected vice president of the College of Charleston Alumni Association.  Allison is an attorney with Mullen Wylie, LLC in Charleston.   She was  recently named collegiate province director for Alpha Delta Pi. She and her husband, Trey, live in Mount Pleasant with their two children, Burke and Ann.


Diane Borella is the director of human resources at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated in Charlotte, NC.

Elin Cate is an associate director of clinical development at biotechnology company, Samumed in San Diego, CA.

Tina Cundari was named a 2016 Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year by the South Carolina Bar.   This award is presented annually and recognizes lawyers who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to volunteer legal services for the poor and disadvantaged. Tina is a member of the Columbia law firm, Sowell Gray Stepp & Laffitte, LLC. She has also been elected to the College of Charleston Foundation Board.  

Debbie Wittkopf Petitpain is a dietitian at MUSC  and was recently recognized by Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation as one of their Heroes of Everyday Life. Sodexo is a nonprofit organization that uses volunteers and clients to implement hunger-free communities.

Cheryl Grant Smith and her husband, Omar, announce the birth of their son, Chase, on April 21, 2016.  Cheryl and Omar also have a daughter named Chloe who was born in 2012. Cheryl is a pediatrician and owns Rice Planter Pediatrics, LLC in Walterboro, SC.

Laura Murray Tobin has been named general manager for the Denver environment office of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services firm.


Robin Hill-Davidson was named the new principal for Greendale Elementary School in New Ellenton, SC.  Robin has a master's degree with an emphasis in special education from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif.,a degree in administration from Chapman University in Orange, Calif., and an educational specialist degree from Cambridge College in Cambridge, MA.


Steve Hunt was inducted into the College's Athletic Hall of Fame in January.  Steve was a sailor at the College and lives in San Diego where he coaches the Point Loma High School sailing team. The team won second place in the ISSA High School Doublehanded Championship hosted by the College at Patriots Point.

John Mims is the vice president of corporate development at Echo Global Logistics, a leading provider of technology-enabled transportation and supply chain management services.

Jamie Tuttle is the new  guidance director at Mason Preparatory School in Charleston.  Jamie earned his master's degree in school counseling from the University of Georgia.


Jenny Long Auld is a full-time sales executive at Hampton Lake Realty in Bluffton, SC.

John Douglass and his wife, Kelly, announce the birth of their second son, James January Joseph, born  April 25, 2016. John is a commercial underwriter for First Citizens Bank and is the president of the Lowcountry alumni chapter.  John also serves on the Cougar Club Board.


Matt Cassidy is on the Oracle Team USA as a grinder and trimmer and is also boat captain, acting as liaison between the sailing team and shore team.

Chris Challoner and Courtney Blanfdord Challonerare proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Campbell Madeline, on May 3rd, 2016. The Challoner family resides in Norfolk, Virginia.

Jody Lumpkin (MS '01) was inducted into the College's Athletic Hall of Fame in January.  Jody is a former men's basketball player and is now chair of the math department at Hammond School in Columbia.

Courtney Sorge McColloch and Eric McColloch '01 announce the birth of their third son, Jude McColloch, who was born in January of 2016.  They currently live in Peachtree City, Georgia.

Christi Roe Nam is the convention and meetings manager at Ecological Society of America (ESA) in Washington, DC.

Karen Schandler is a biologist at the National Institute of Health in Rockville, MD.

Lori Sutton-Randolph is a relocation specialist and realtor at Costello Real Estate & Investments in Charlotte, NC.

Jessica  Chenault Whitehead is a coastal hazards adaptation specialist at the North Carolina Sea Grant Program.  She was named as a member of the new federal Advisory Committee for the Sustained National Climate Assessment by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The panel will advise NOAA on products and activities, including engaging stakeholders.


Rebecca Laney Anderson and Jeremy Anderson '00 welcomed their second daughter, Sydney Powell on May 25, 2016.  She joins big sister, Reese.  Rebecca is an attorney  employed as a hearing officer by the SC Department of Health and Human Services.  Jeremy is an optometrist and practices with Spartanburg Vision.

Amanda Bunting Comen is the chair of the Women's and Gender Studies' Community Advisory Board at the College of Charleston.

Lindsey Craft is the new general manager at Lola, a restaurant, bar and catering company located in the growing business district of Park Circle in North Charleston.

Townsend Davidson is a Charleston artist whose paintings investigate the humorous intersection of the natural and artificial within the theater of daily life.

Aaron Hite is an advertising sales executive at Google. In this role, Aaron advises business technology brands on their digital advertising strategies across Google properties and platforms. Aaron is also on the College of Charleston Communications Department Advisory Board and holds a master's degree in mass communication from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Sarah, have two children, Emmett (3) and Rose, born on February 1. The family lives in Cambridge, Mass.

NaKeisha Jones-Helton is the dean of students and families at Two Rivers Public Charter School, in Washington DC, where she has worked for 12 years.

Jay Karen is the chief executive officer of the National Golf Course Owners Association.

Amy  Kiling Kuenzel is the training administrator for the Chalmers Center, a research and educational institute which trains workers in church-centered ministries to promote economic development and spiritual transformation in the context of poor communities.  Amy has been with the Chalmers Center in Lookout Mountain, GA since 2008.

Sarah Morgan is the director of human resources for Kiawah Island Golf Resort.

Richard Pierce is the vice president and branch manager of BNC Bank in Charleston, SC.  He was recently awarded Chapter Advisor of the Year for Pi Kappa Phi at their national convention.  The Alpha chapter at the College also received eight other awards including the Founders' Award as the most outstanding chapter in the nation.  

David Regan is now a senior fleet management consultant for Fleetmatics in Charlotte, NC and achieved President's Club in 2015 (top 1% of all all reps globally).   


Kyle Comen recently relocated and changed the name of his business to South Side Bait and Tackle on Savannah Highway in Charleston, SC.

Lori Crawford is a regulatory risk senior advisor with the Big 4 consulting firm, KPMG.  Lori lives in Lithia Springs, GA.

Christine Wright Fournier is the account executive at Joselove Filson Advertising, Inc. in Savannah, GA.

David Santos has been elected as a shareholder at McNair Law Firm's Charleston office.  He advises individuals and entities in various aspects of real estate transactions, both commercial and residential.

Bob Snead is a recipient of the Award of Achievement from the College's School of the Arts.  Bob received his MFA from Yale and was a co-founder of Redux Contemporary Art Studio in Charleston.  He works with the School of Visual Art at Loyola University in New Orleans.


Bradley Banias was selected by South Carolina Super Lawyers to the 2016 Rising Stars and Top Rated Immigration Attorney lists. Brad is an attorney with the Charleston law firm, Barnwell Whaley Patterson & Helms LLC.

Jeffrey Bogdan was recognized by the South Carolina Super Lawyers as a top rated business litigation attorney. Jeff lives in Charleston and is an attorney with Barnwell Whaley Patterson & Helms LLC.

Alexey Bogomolov lives in Ponte Vedra, Fla. and is the data and analytics team lead at Oceanside Ten Management Team.

Raymond Burroughs has returned to Young Clement and Rivers law firm as special counsel in the banking and business litigation, commercial transactions and real estate and tax, estate planning and probate practice groups. Raymond earned  an L.L.M. in tax law from NYU Law and a masters in accounting degree.  He is a certified fraud examiner, past president, vice president, secretary and treasurer of the Charleston Tax Council, a council member of the Tax Section of the South Carolina Bar Association and a member of the Charleston Tax Roundtable.

Zachary Dennis has joined Halls Management Group as the general manager of High Cotton restaurant in Charleston, SC.

Jackson Ewing is the Director of Asian Sustainability at the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) in New York, where he leads projects on environmental cooperation, responsible resource development, and international climate change policy.

Jay Jordan is from Florence, SC and is a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives.

Alison LeMaster Langridge and her husband, Samuel, announce the birth of their daughter, Winifred "Winnie" Gates, on April 12, 2016.   The Langridge family lives in Maple Ridge, British Columbia.

Katie Linder McCrillis and her husband, Nathan, live in Port Aransas, Texas with their three sons: Scott Weston, Jonah Miles, and Atticus Orion.  

Mary Shields is a senior associate at McCay, Kiddy & Associates, LLC  in Mount Pleasant, SC and has received passing grades on all parts of the CPA exam.

Danielle Huebbers Sreenivasan lives in Huntington Beach, Calif. and is the director and performance partner at Premier, Inc.

Ryan Treat and Ann Ward Treat '04 announced the birth of their son, James Parker, on August 4, 2016. He joins big sister Ellie. Ryan is the brand manager of the psychology discipline for McGraw-Hill Education.  He'll oversee the strategic vision as well as the acquisition, development, and launch of digital and print products. Ann owns Charleston Hats. 


Brandon Cochran is a major gifts officer at Furman University in Greenville, SC.

Bob Flynn has been elected to the College of Charleston Alumni Association Board of Directors.  Bob is also the vice president of the Raleigh/Durham alumni chapter.  He and his wife Jackie live in Raleigh where Bob is a virtual sales account manager for Cisco Systems.

James Freeman is a cyber threat analyst at TEKsystems, a company that provides IT staffing, talent management and  services in Baltimore, MD.

Matt Gaylord is the commercial property manager at Lee & Associates in their Charleston office.

Evan Linder is a recipient of the 2016 Award of Achievement from the College's School of the Arts.  Evan is a co-founder of New Colony Theatre in Chicago where he works as a playwright, actor and director.  His latest play, Byhalia, Mississippi has garnered very favorable reviews.

Curt Martin was named partner at the Charleston law firm,  Anderson Reynolds & Stephens, LLC.  He represents clients in construction, commercial and personal injury litigation.

Liz Mester is the director of communications and engagement at WINGS for Kids in Charleston.

Tristan Mouligne competed for the third time in  the Atlantic Cup this spring.  The Atlantic Cup is the longest offshore race in the Western Atlantic and is also the United States' only short-handed offshore race dedicated to the Class 40. Tristan is a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley in Boston.


Johnathan Brown earned an MA in writing and consciousness from then New College of California and is completing his MFA at The University of New Orleans.  In 2013, he earned the John Woods Scholarship to study in Prague. His poems have been published in the Worcester Review, Wordplaysound, The Nashville Review, and Indiefeed: Performance Poetry. He won the 2010 and 2012 Tennessee Williams Literary Festival Poetry Slam in New Orleans. He's a nine-time finalist at the LEAF Poetry Slam and the 2006 Bay Area Slam Champion. He has been a member of five National Poetry Slam Teams. He taught high school for eight years, two of those in Charleston, SC. Last May, he quit his real job in order chase his dream of making a living as a touring artist. Now he makes rap music, plays shows, and rides a tricycle for a living.

Amy Caffee is the project manager at Thinkmojo, a company that helps startups, growth companies, and established businesses connect with their customers and demonstrate their unique value with smart, compelling videos.  Amy lives in Charleston.

Will Costigan is the director of income tax for Fairpoint Communications in Charlotte, NC.

Nicholas Glover is the vice president of business development at Working Solutions, the global leader in agent and technology solutions for enterprise contact centers. Nicholas, his wife Caitlin, and their son, Aiden,  live in Tampa.

Andrew Jaffee is a certified financial planner with Northwestern Mutual in Charleston, SC.

Chris Campbell has been selected for the 2016 Charleston Baseball Hall of Fame.  He played second base for the College of Charleston from 2004-07, and when he graduated, he ranked as the program's all-time leader in games played (240), hits (355), doubles (79) and RBIs (290). In 2007, Campbell led the nation in RBIs per game with 1.41 while his 87 RBIs in 2005 rank second all-time in Southern Conference history. When he finished in '07, Campbell's 290 career RBIs were tied for first in SoCon history, while his 355 career hits were tied for second in the league record books. Campbell was the 2004 SoCon Freshman of the Year, while earning First Team All-SoCon honors in 2005 and Second Team All-Conference accolades in 2004, 2006 and 2007.  He played on the Cougars first three NCAA Regional teams and was the only player in Southern Conference history to record two seasons of at least 100 hits.

Courtney Clark is the new branch manager of the Sangaree Library, a branch well-known for their inspired community projects such as the community garden and the Little Free Library(R) and their unique programs such as the after school teen hangout titled Badges and Bookbags.  After briefly moving to Virginia to attain a M.Ed. in school psychology from the College of William and Mary, Courtney returned to Charleston to attain her master's degree in library and information science at the University of South Carolina.

Ashley Herod Brockman is the development and individual giving officer at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens and Museum of Art in Nashville, TN.

Nick Chigges was selected for the 2016 Charleston Baseball Hall of Fame. He was a two-time Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year and collected first team All-Conference accolades in 2006 and 2007. Named co-MVP of the 2006 SoCon Tournament, Chigges earned second team Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger and NCBWA All-America honors in 2006 and second team ABCA All-American recognition in 2007. He had a 31-5 career record and a .861 winning percentage, and when he finished, the 31 wins ranked first all-time at CofC and fifth in SoCon history. Chigges' ERA of 1.40 in 2006 ranked third in the country. He was named to the 2006 Kentucky Regional All-Tournament team after a complete-game, 13-strikeout performance in the win over Ball State in the semifinals. A 2004 member of Collegiate Baseball's All-America Freshman Team, Chigges was drafted by the NY Yankees and played for the 2008 Charleston RiverDogs. He led the Cougars through the program's most successful four years, winning three SoCon regular season championships in 2004, 2005 and 2007 and the 2006 SoCon Tournament title, and is a member of the Cougars' Baseball Wall of Fame.

She studies herbal medicine and is a certified Women's Herbalist as well as an active medicine maker. For two years she has owned her own small business, Bearfoot Happiness, where she handstitches recycled paper journals that are custom designed for each unique individual.

Chase Shaw coached the Clear Falls High School Sailing team from Houston, TX, the overall winner of the  ISSA High School Doublehanded Championship.The event was hosted by the College at Patriot's Point.

Elizabeth Simmons is the sales and services coordinator at One Washington Circle Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Ellen Spellman is a benefits administrator at Benefitfocus on Daniel Island, SC. The company provides a  cloud-based benefits management platform that simplifies how organizations and individuals shop for, enroll in, manage, and exchange benefits.

Elizabeth Works is a student enrolled in the Mississippi State University Veterinary Medicine program.  She plans to graduate with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2019.    


Clauson Coward III has joined Coward-Hund Construction Group in North Charleston as building systems manager. He has over 10 years of commercial construction experience and is a third-generation contractor with Coward-Hund.

Amanda Dix is an area manager for Amazon operations and lives in Carlisle, Penn.

Jillian Dowdy is a box office apprentice for Spoleto Festival USA.

Rosie Escalante is the area manager at Amazon in West Columbia, SC.

Cate Fryland is the operations team lead at Amazon in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Tiffany Gonzales is an operations specialist for Construction Resources in Decatur, GA.

Joseph Gonzalez is an oracle cloud developer for CSS International, Inc, on Daniel Island, SC.

Hanna Humphreys is a political assistant for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in Washington, DC.

Alex Jacobs joined the Charleston architectural firm, LS3P, as a systems administrator. His previous professional experience includes internships at the Anderson Data Science Research Lab, the Charleston Computational Genomics Group, and the Westinghouse Air Brake Technology Corporation.

Megan Jacobs is a marketing intern at Ro Sham Beaux, a design company located in Charleston, SC.

Rachel Jaffe is the site coordinator at Reading Partners, a national education nonprofit working with Title I elementary schools to support students who are reading six months to two-and-a-half years below grade-level.

Brittany Johnson is the new customer service representative in the Registrar's Office at the College of Charleston.

Trevor Jones is working as a staff assistant for U.S. Representative Kathy Castor (D-FL) in her Washington, D.C., office.

Malcolm Kates is a Postbac IRTA Fellow at the National Institutes of Health in the Neurogenetics Unit of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.  His research focuses specifically on hereditary muscular disorders.

Kelly Lu is a southern Vietnamese-American artist currently exploring a new landscape in Tokyo, Japan. Her work references ideas of rebellion, the transition from childhood to adulthood, and the internal struggle of minorities to discover self-identity in the South, a place Lu never felt connected to despite being raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She emphasizes how opposites balance each other by finding the relationship between light and dark, innocence and corruption, the beautiful and rotten, and life and death in an illustrative form. Through the exhibition, Kelly Lu's WAR!, ,The Southern Gallery was able to support the creation of work which pushes for dialogue about race and gender.

Emily Mainolfi is the barn manager and assistant trainer at Foxwood Farm in Pike Road, Alabama.  Emily was the marketing research intern in Alumni Affairs during the spring semester of her senior year at the College.

Maura Rush is working for Amazon in one of the fulfillment centers as an area manager in Lebanon, TN.

Sarah Sanders is a high school mathematics teacher in the Peace Corps and she is currently located in Liberia.

Octavia Sims is a senior human resource assistant at Amazon in Minneapolis.

Grace Socash is an assistant war room analyst for FP1 Strategies, LLC in Washington, DC.

Kathy Seay Welborn (MPA) is the former assistant director for scholarships in the College's financial assistance and veterans affairs at the College.  She and her husband have recently moved to Pensacola, FL.

Jessica Wigley is pursuing a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University. She plans to earn her Doctorate in 2020.
