Summer Camps

The College of Charleston has many camps available during the summer, which is a great opportunity for your children to know your alma mater on their own!

Charleston Soccer Academy

Charleston Soccer Academy is committed to developing youth soccer players in a fun, challenging environment.  We have many different camp offerings that are suited for every ability level from the player just starting out to the youth national team star! Charleston Soccer Academy has it all!

Day Camps: June 5-9, 2017
July 10-14, 2017 

Each day of camp we'll focus on a different part of the game and structure activities so that campers get plenty of repetitions while challenging each other to improve. Campers are placed into groups based on age and ability ensuring that each player's environment is perfectly suited for their development. The staff is made up of College of Charleston coaches as well as current and former C of C players! Come out and join us for an incredible week of sun and soccer this summer!

Petite Feet Day Camp (3-4 years): June 5-9, 2017
July 10-14, 2017

designed to be a fun filled entry level intro to the world's most popular sport! Your little camper will have so much fun running and playing soccer games on the same field that the COUGARS play on. The camp staff will be made up of College of Charleston coaches, Soccer Shots Training Staff as well as current and former CofC superstars. No experience playing soccer is necessary.

Elite Girls Residential Camp (12-18 years): June 26-29, 2017
July 17-20, 2017

The Elite Girls Residential Camp is structured for the female soccer player who is serious about soccer. The camp curriculum was designed to be very challenging and to give players a taste for what to expect at the next level. Specific GK training is also included. Campers will be coached by the current College of Charleston Staff, other college and HS coaches at every level as well as current and former CofC players!

Boys Basketball Camp

Session I, II and III
Camp is for boys ages 6 - 14. All sessions are divided into age groups. We are an introductory camp designed to teach campers basketball skills and activities. Campers will participate in skill activities and 5 on 5 games. Each camper receives a College of Charleston t-shirt and ball. Camp begins each day at 9am and ends at 4:00pm. Early drop-off begins at 8am. Lunch is provided. Camp Price: $225

Session I: June 12-15

Session II: June 26-29

Session III: July 31-Aug. 3

Jr. Cougar Camp
This camp is for boys ages 3-6. Camp will start at 9am and end at 12pm Monday - Thursday, June 12th - 15th. Lessons will include introductory skills and games that emphasize dribbling, passing and team building. Camp will be held in the main gym or practice gym of the TD Arena and is $75. Capacity for this camp is 25. Dismissal will be on Burns Lane.

Elite Camp
Camp is for rising 9th - 12th graders. Camp will start at 12pm and end at 4pm on Sunday, June 25th. Camp is $50. Check-in will be 11am - 12pm in the front lobby of the TD Arena. Players needing hotel accomodations should contact the Sleep Inn Mt. Pleasant for negotiated rates. The number is: 843.856.5000

Cougar Volleyball Camp

Join Head Coach Jason Kepner and staff for Cougar Volleyball Camps this summer! 

Team Camp: July 14-16, 2017
Open to high school Varsity and JV teams in grades 9-12 looking to prepare for the upcoming season. During the first two days, participating squads will work on team development and competitive wash drills, followed by a third day of competition featuring all teams from team camp. 

Team Camp Daily Schedule includes morning and afternoon session comprised of skill training and wash drills. All meals will be provided at the Liberty Street Fresh Food Company. The evening session will be all scrimmages and game play. Including all teams from camps.

Sunday, July 16 is an all day tournament, including competition against camp teams. It is open to parents wishing to attend and watch. 

Commuter Camper: $260 per person
Resident Campter: $325 per person

Elite Skills Camp: July 17-20, 2017 (Grades 7-12)
Open to girls entering grades 7-12. Designed to work primarily on the fundamentals of volleyball in a challenging and fun enviornment. The extra night sessions allow for more skill training and competitive games against each other and C of C players.

Overnight Camper: $395 per person

Elite Skills Camp: July 18-20, 2017 (Grades 5-12)
Open to girls entering grades 5-12. This camp is designed to work primarily on the fundamentals of volleyball in a challenging and fun environment. Excellent instruction given by college coaches and Division I players will help you master the basics and prepare for your high school season. Camp ends at 12:00 pm on July 21st. 

Commuter Camper: $275 per person

Summer Sailing Programs

Youth Camps: Our youth sailing camps are designed to teach your child the basic fundamentals and introduce them to the amazing sport of sailing. The C of C sailing instructional staff will conduct teaching on the water aboard our brand new J/22 fixed keelboats. These camps are for ages 8-14. Camps are week long, Monday-Friday from 9 am till 5 pm.
Dates: June 12-16, June 19-23, June 26-30, July 17-July 21, July 24-28

STEM Youth Camps: Our STEM youth camps are geared to teach children the science, technology, engineering, and math behind sailing. The C of C sailing instructional staff follows a nationally recognized curriculum and partners with the college’s faculty to conduct hands on experiments. The sailing portion is done on our J/22 fixed keelboats. These camps are for ages 8-14. Camps are week long, Monday-Friday from 9 am till 5 pm. We also offer school visits and field trips at request during the school year.
Dates: July 10-14, July 31-August 4

Adult Non-Credit Classes: The College of Charleston Sailing Program offers non-credit, adult community sailing classes from May through July. The program offers several types of courses to fit your schedule and needs. Our boats have been modified for instructional purposes, allowing for ideal learning situations and a comfortable exciting sailing experience. We also offer private lessons to cater to your schedule and skills. The schedule, pricing, and registration can be found on our website at sailing.cofc.edu.

Sailing Association Membership: Membership into the Sailing Association allows you restricted use of the College’s fleets of 10 J/22s, 8 Lasers, 18 FJs, or 18 z420 Dinghies. Sailing privileges are accorded through sailing ability assessed by a competency test. We are open Wednesday-Sunday 10-6 PM for day sailing.

Tuesday Night Recreational Racing: Our Tuesday night racing series starts in late April and will run through September. Dock call is 5:30 PM and we usually end racing around 7:30 PM. This series is designed to be fun and we do not take score. Anyone with basic racing experience is welcome!

Adaptive/Disabled Sailing Program: This program is designed for people who may need special modifications or accommodations to sail because of physical disabilities. We offer several Thursday night lessons in the summer in conjunction with the Paralympic group Adaptive Expeditions.

Camp Art Attack

Camp Art Attack will be back for a fabulous fourth year at the College of Charleston. This is an arts infusion summer camp designed for rising K-6th grade students.

Camp Art Attack weaves the visual and performing arts into the fibers of the curriculum. It takes the engagement of hands-on learning from the arts and makes connections to other content areas. This powerful connection is what made Camp ART ATTACK a success for participants of all ages.

Summer STEAM

At the Summer STEAM Institute (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics), rising 3rd-8th grade students explore what it means to live life creatively. We offer 6 weeks of engaging activities that incorporate STEAM curriculum (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) and athletics to foster imagination, collaboration and creativity in our youth.

Students work alongside professional artists, educators and cultural organizations to explore each weekly theme. Summer STEAM Institute offers different weekly themes, so check out all six weeks! Students who participate will work with our athletics partner, Chucktown Squash.

June 19 – 23, Week #1: Roll ‘Em – We’ll roll out the red carpet for you! Come learn about movie production, stage & set design, editing, costume design, script writing, musical scores and more during this fun filled week in Hollywood.

June 26 – 30, Week #2: Super Heroes vs Sir Isaac! Did you know superheroes defy Newton’s Laws of Motion? Come test them out during this super fun week!

July 3 – 7 (no camp on July 4th), Week #3: Secret Code – Come experience coding and computer science. Create your own app and explore the world of technology during this not-so-secret week.

July 10 – 14, Week #4: Total Eclipse of the Art – Did you know we’re having a solar eclipse next month? That’s right! Come learn all about space through dance, visual arts, theatre and music. It’s OUT OF THIS WORLD!

July 17 – 21, Week #5: We’re #1 – Did you know Charleston was voted #1 City in the World by Travel & Leisure Magazine? Come experience the rich history, arts and culture behind this prestigious international award. Wear you’re walking shoes – we’ll be touring our city daily.

July 24 – 28, Week #6: DAT’s Right – Design, Animation & Technology, DAT for short, is sure to get your creative juices flowing. Join us for this fun filled week of cartoons, comics and computer science.
