James P. and Carolyn N. Anderson Endowed Alumni Scholarship

For student leaders on campus

The fund has been created in honor of Jim ’55 and Carolyn Anderson ’70, by their children, Philip Anderson '81 and Joseph B. Anderson '86 in recognition of Jim and Carolyn’s commitment and dedication to the College. The Anderson family has a long history with the College. Jim graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and returned to the College after completing his post-graduate studies to serve 38 distinguished years as a professor in the Department of Mathematics. Even in retirement, he remains a staunch supporter of Cougar athletics, an active member of the Alumni Association, and has served as a volunteer tutor in the Math Lab. Carolyn graduated with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the College, and has remained an active member of the Alumni Association. Both Jim and Carolyn dedicated their lives to teaching, and have always placed a high priority on education. They continue to participate in educational programs in both the US and abroad. This scholarship is a tribute to their emphasis on continued learning and their support of the College.
