Larry Gale and his wife, Margaret, published their book, A Holy City Christmas: Charleston Holiday Tales, in October. Mr. Gale splits his time as a self-employed communications security professional, photographer, and drummer. He earned his MS in information technology from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1985. Mr. Gale and his wife reside in Charleston, SC.

Shirley Koven Bachman joined Avalere as its Managing Director, Commercialization and Market Access, in October. Ms. Bachman and her husband, David, reside in Wildwood, MO.

Chanele Henry Jackson was named the Chair of the Board of Directors for Fearless Brown Girls Inc. in October. Based in Charlotte, NC, the non-profit organization empowers young black and brown girls to achieve financial literacy and personal development. Ms. Jackson resides in Fort Mill, SC, and is a stalwart supporter of our alma mater, recently making gifts to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund and Cougar Pantry.

Mark Stenhouse has been appointed as Board Observer and Advisor to Abivax, a biotechnology company based in Paris, France. Mr. Stenhouse resides in Sullivan’s Island, SC, with his wife, Jeri.

Catherine Paige Riley is the Director, Mass Spectrometry Research and Analytics, at BioAnalysis, LLC. Ms. Riley resides in Philadelphia with her husband, Charles.

Jennifer Streaks is a Senior Personal Finance Reporter for Business Insider. She earned her MBA from Johns Hopkins University and her JD from the Howard University School of Law. Ms. Streaks resides in Brooklyn, NY.

Daniel Powell joined Integrated Finance & Accounting Solutions as a Computer Security Specialist in August. He earned his MA in information technology management from Webster University. Mr. Powell and his wife, Melanie, reside in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Kerry Nale Spitze has been promoted to Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships at Bowling Green State University. Ms. Spitze earned her MS in counselor education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2005. She resides in Perrysburg, OH.

Rochelle Rogers Altman joined the College’s faculty as a Visiting Instructor in the Department of Health and Human Performance in August. Ms. Altman and her husband, Jonathan, reside in Sullivan’s Island, SC, with their children. The couple recently made a generous gift to the Charleston Athletic Fund.

Marvell Adams is the Chief Executive Officer at Caregiver Action Network. He earned his MHA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Adams and his wife, Karoline, reside in Baltimore with their children.

Kimberly Conrad Saari is the Owner of Quarry Cove Retreat, a lakefront glamping resort located in East Tennessee. Ms. Saari and her husband, Benjamin, reside in Mooresburg, TN.

Amy Trodglen Southerland (MPA ’17) was promoted to Director of Livability & Tourism for the City of Charleston in October. Ms. Southerland has worked for the city for more than 18 years, first joining the Department of Planning, Preservation, and Sustainability as an Associate Planner in 2006. She and her husband, David, reside in Summerville, SC. The couple recently made gifts to support CofC’s Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art Fund.

Stephanie Owens Price was inducted into the Brookland-Cayce High School athletics Hall of Fame in November. Ms. Price was a multi-sport athlete in high school and played softball at the College. She resides in Gilbert, SC.

2003

Laura Ball is the Director of Music at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Johns Island, SC. Ms. Ball earned her MFA from Goddard College. She married Colin Skinner in 2023, and the couple resides in Charleston, SC.

Christina Demos Wynn is a Partner at Duggan Wynn Law Firm, LLC, practicing in estate planning and probate. She earned her LLM in taxation from Boston University in 2015 and her JD from the Charleston School of Law in 2013. Ms. Wynn and her husband, Baron, reside in Mount Pleasant, SC, with their daughter, Katherine.

Stephen Collins joined ProEquity Asset Management as an Advisor in November. He currently holds multiple senior executive level positions at family offices and their affiliated investment management arms, private equity firms, and investment management and advisory firms. Mr. Collins resides in Saint Petersburg, FL, with his wife, Marcie.

Adrienne Helms was one of four University of New Mexico employees to receive the honorable Advancing Compliance and Ethics award in November. Ms. Helms is the Clery Program Coordinator in the university’s Office of Compliance, Ethics & Equal Opportunity. She earned her master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the Virgina Polytechnic Institute. Ms. Helms resides in Albuquerque, NM.

Dave Trausneck is the Senior Manager, Public Relations & External Communications, at Aidoc. He married Amanda Trausneck in November, and the couple resides in Baltimore. Mr. Trausneck recently made a gift to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.

Gaëlle Blanvillain (MS) joined the College’s faculty as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology in August. She earned her PhD in biological sciences from Virginia Tech earlier this year. Dr. Blanvillain resides in Charleston, SC.

Kathleen White Sanders is the new Vice President of Sales Operations at HD Supply. She earned her MBA from the University of North Florida in 2011. Ms. Sanders and her husband, Christopher Sanders ’05, reside in Jacksonville, FL.

Erin Yates is the Owner and Founder of Lounge With Us, an in-person and online lifestyle boutique. Ms. Yates resides in Charleston, SC.

Ryan Law Johnson is a Nurse Practitioner and recently opened her own mental health practice, Law of Tranquility, in Summerville, SC. Dr. Johnson earned her MSN from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2012 and her DNP in 2022. She resides in Summerville, SC, with her spouse and daughter, Mattilyn.

Molly Coffey Glover joined DARCO International as its Senior Marketing Manager in October. Ms. Glover and her husband, Kelley, reside in Charleston, SC.

Melissa Cohen Kegan is the Executive Vice President of Operations at Dentsu. She and her husband, Stuart, welcomed their daughter, Ellen, in January. The family of three resides in Richmond, VA.

2008

Jermaine Johnson, a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, released a documentary about his life’s journey titled, I Got Myself a Yard. He earned his MS in project management from Strayer University in 2014 and his DBA from Northcentral University in 2018. Dr. Johnson and his wife, Dr. Evan McDonald Johnson ’11, reside in Columbia, SC, with their children. The family recently made a gift to the Charleston Athletic Fund.

Jeff Evans recently joined the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives as its Director of Government Affairs & Policy. Mr. Evans resides in Arlington, VA.

Michael Johnson (MAT) is the Choir Director for the Kershaw County School District. He earned his MEd in educational administration from Grand Canyon University in 2023. Mr. Johnson resides in Camden, SC.

Sarah Kelly is a Human Resources Business Partner and Senior Analyst at the MIL Corporation located in North Charleston, SC. In 2019, Ms. Kelly earned her MS in human resource management from Charleston Southern University. She resides in Charleston, SC.

Alex Robinson Pierson and her husband, Scott, welcomed their third child, Piper Allen Pierson, to the family in September. The family of five resides in Aliso Viejo, CA.

2010

Rachel Corbett Alford married Lonnie Alford in June. Ms. Alford is the Associate Director of Academic Programs within Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. She earned her MA in clinical mental health counseling from Webster University in 2017. The newlyweds reside in Jonesboro, GA.

Laura Cook is a Pediatric Psychologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She earned her MA and PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2012 and 2015. Dr. Cook resides in Westerville, OH.

Caroline Loy Guthrie recently joined the College’s faculty as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication. She earned her MA in media, culture, and communication from New York University and her PhD in cultural studies from George Mason University. Dr. Guthrie’s book, The American Historical Imaginary: Contested Narratives of the Past, was published by Rutgers University Press in 2022. She resides in Summerville, SC.

GP McLeer received the Excellence in Community Outreach award at the 2024 Transportation Association of South Carolina annual conference. Mr. McLeer is the Mayor of Fountain Inn, SC. He is also the Executive Director of the Upstate Mobility Alliance and is the Co-Founder of Pecan Public Relations, LLC. Mr. McLeer and his wife, Taylor, reside in Fountain Inn, SC, with their daughter, Albee James.

Bretticca Moody joined the American Federation of Teachers as its Assistant Director, Higher Education, in September. Ms. Moody earned her MEd in higher education administration from Columbia College in 2014. She is currently pursuing her PhD in leadership studies from North Carolina A&T University with plans to graduate in 2025. Ms. Moody resides in Washington, D.C.

Alicia Evans joined AuditBoard as a Customer Success Manager in November. Ms. Evans resides in Oak Hill, VA.

Richard Duncan was recognized with the Award of Merit at the 2024 Stanford Pride Awards. Mr. Duncan is the Neighborhood Program Director at Stanford University. He earned his MEd in counselor education from Clemson University in 2015. Mr. Duncan resides in San Francisco.

Ethan Marrow joined Merck as a Senior Automation Specialist in October. He earned his MS in biomedical engineering from North Carolina State University in 2017. Mr. Marrow resides in Durham, NC.

Dyanne Vaught joined the U.S. Department of the Treasury as an Economist in September. Dr. Vaught earned her MA in economics from the University of Michigan in 2018. Earlier this year, she earned PhDs in economics and public policy from the University of Michigan. Dr. Vaught married her husband, Justin, in 2023, and the couple resides in Washington, D.C. The couple recently supported CofC’s Economics Fund.

Molly Crete was promoted to Director, Incubation Services, at Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator in November. Ms. Crete resides in Santa Monica, CA.

Hudson Townes Story is an Executive Assistant at McKinsey & Company. She and her husband, Jason, reside in Dallas with their daughter, Penelope, and son, Oliver.

Ginger Bauer joined Querri as an Account Executive in September. Ms. Bauer resides in North Charleston, SC.

Kyle Bostick is a Senior Geoscientist at Fugro, where he works in the field of marine site characterization for renewable energy and oil and gas. He earned his PhD in geology and organic biogeochemistry from the University of Florida. Dr. Bostick and his wife, Kelly, reside in Houston.

Kristin Brig-Ortiz (MA ’17) is a Lecturer in the Public Health & Society program at Washington University. She earned her PhD in the history of medicine, science, and technology from Johns Hopkins University in May. Dr. Brig-Ortiz resides in St. Louis with her husband, Anthony.

Colbie Errico was promoted to Associate Director, NPP & Consumer Marketing, at AstraZeneca in November. Ms. Errico resides in Washington, D.C.

Kayla Bogad Esan is the Senior Director, Stewardship for Medical Development and Alumni Relations, at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Ms. Esan and her husband, Nadav, welcomed their daughter, Hadassah, to the family in August. The couple resides in Boca Raton, FL, with their two children.

Ashley Hull Yaffe joined Harry Winston as a Merchandise Manager in October. She married Dan Yaffe in June, and the couple resides in New York City.

Austin Bello was promoted to Solutions Engineer III at Bandwidth Inc., and resides in Raleigh, NC.

Jonathan Rypkema recently finished a custom jewelry bench for AL&EM’s new storefront on Cleveland Street in downtown Charleston. Mr. Rypkema is a local artist and craftsman whose works have been featured at the Gibbes Museum of Art and the Medical University of South Carolina, among other locations. Mr. Rypkema resides in Charleston, SC.

Anna Stahl married Dalton Lemacks in Mount Pleasant, SC, in November. Ms. Stahl is the Executive Assistant to the CEO at Bennett Hospitality. The newlyweds reside in Charleston, SC.

Katie Hancock joined Policy Matters, LLC, as its Budget and Policy Analyst in November. Ms. Hancock obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver in 2023. She married Tyler Sandifer ’17 in October, and the couple resides in Lakewood, CO.

Payton Hulsey was named a new Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Keiser University, located in Fort Lauderdale, FL, in October.

Eliza Kassebaum is an Assistant County Attorney in Ford County, KS. Ms. Kassebaum earned her JD from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2020. She married Austin Hrencher in September, and the couple resides in Dodge City, KS. Ms. Kassebaum recently made a gift to support the CofC Fund.

Riley Krupen is a new Sales Representative at Sun Day Red in Philadelphia. Mr. Krupen earned his MBA from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2023.
