Ring Ceremony

Spring 2018

College of Charleston Ring Ceremony
Hosted by the Alumni Association
Thursday, March 1, 2018
Seven o'clock in the evening
TD Arena
301 Meeting Street
Charleston, South Carolina

Family and friends are invited to witness College of Charleston students receive their rings. This event will celebrate the history and tradition of the College ring, which may be worn by a student upon completion of 30 hours of study toward a degree. On the evening prior to the ceremony, students will have the opportunity to place their rings inside the College of Charleston’s first classroom. The rings will spend the night inside so they may be imbued with the spirit of Bishop Robert Smith and the College’s first students. Bishop Smith was the first President of the College and held classes on the ground floor of his home at 6 Glebe Street (c. 1770). This house is now the official residence of the President of the College of Charleston. For more information, please visit http://bit.ly/CofCRingHistory.
