H. Biemann Othersen, Jr. is Professor Emeritus of Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). The MUSC Board of Trustees announced the honorary naming of the H. Biemann Othersen, Jr. M.D. Pediatric Operating Suite in the new MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion in August. Dr. Othersen and his wife, Janelle, reside in Charleston, SC.

1983

Rahul Mehra and Cathy Jung were married in October. Dr. Mehra is a Psychiatrist and the CEO and Chief Physician Executive for the National Center for Performance Health in Tampa. FL.

1990

Christi Killen Chard is a Physician for Carolina Health Centers, Inc., and lives on Lake Greenwood in Cross Hill, SC. Dr. Chard earned her MD from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1995.

Louis Tick married Sara Sharnoff in October at the Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Reform Jewish Congregation of Charleston. The couple resides in Charleston, SC.

Sherlonda Peake Adkins (MPA ’03) a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C), has founded PsychMYWAY, a telepsychiatry practice specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults challenged by mental health difficulties. Ms. Adkins resides in North Charleston, SC, with her husband, Randy Adkins ’98, and their children, Kayla, Dyran, and Kira.

Christine Brackett Gordon is the Marketing Brand Manager for Erlanger Health System. She and her husband, Jerry, live in Chattanooga, TN, with their three daughters: Jewel, Isabella, and Sydney.

Bryant Thrift is Senior Vice President, Accounting and Financial Operations for Core4ce LLC based in Reston, VA. He and his wife, Jamie Thrift ’12, reside in Summerville, SC.

Amy Kisabeth Triana is the Director, University IT Customer Experience for Augusta University. Ms. Triana earned her master of business and technology from the University of Georgia this year. She and her husband, Ben, reside in Aiken, SC.

2003

Sean Evans is the Scientific Engagement Lead for Johnson & Johnson. In 2014, Dr. Evans co-founded Cogentis Therapeutics Inc. in Baltimore. He earned both his MS in Biotechnology (2008) and his PhD in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology (2014) from The Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Evans resides in Washington, D.C.

Aileen Shepherd is an Attorney and the Founder of ASK IP Law. Ms. Shepherd earned her JD from California Western School of Law in 2017. While at the College, she majored in biology and minored in chemistry. Ms. Shepherd resides in Coronado, CA.

Avery Hall Beuerman is the Client Relationship Manager for Kallaco. Ms. Beuerman and her husband, Greg, live in New Orleans where she is the President-elect of the New Orleans CofC Alumni Club.

Kevin Cullen works in Strategic Sales for Stripe, a technology company in San Francisco. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two daughters, Tyla and Kinley.

Sara Durnin Cuthbertson was elected to a three-year term in March to serve on the School Committee for Lexington Public Schools in Lexington, MA.

Katie Wyatt is the Advancement Director for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Tampa, FL. Ms. Wyatt earned her MPA from Florida State University in 2008. She married Wade Reynolds in May.

2008

Sarah Harvey Ali is a Business Development Specialist II for Catholic Relief Services. Ms. Ali earned her MA in political science with a focus in Arab studies from Georgetown University in 2014. She resides in Manila, Philippines, with her husband, Nabil, and their two children, Savannah and Basil.

Allen Flaherty is an Industrial Engineer and Business Lead for The Boeing Company in Seattle. Mr. Flaherty attended the University of Washington where he became a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (2019) and earned his certificate in engineering leadership (2020). In February, he earned his Project Management Certificate from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Flaherty resides in Burien, WA.

Rebecca Neuren is studying environmental engineering at Loyola Marymount University with plans to graduate in 2022. Ms. Neuren is currently working a wine harvest at a vineyard in Sonoma County, CA. She resides in Los Angeles.

George Economos is an Account Supervisor for Sensis in Austin, TX. Mr. Economos is studying at Texas State University with plans to graduate with his MBA in 2022.

Jake Winquist married Grace Ku in October at a small private ceremony in San Diego. Mr. Winquist is the Director, Management Consulting for RSM US LLP. He earned his MBA in organizational transformation from Boston University in 2018. The couple resides in San Diego.

2010

Lane Nelson Chapman is a Project Manager for b.well Connected Health based in Baltimore. Ms. Chapman earned her MHA from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2014. In 2016, she was selected as one of Greenville’s Best and Brightest under 35. In 2016 and 2017, Ms. Chapman was selected to present at the Mobile Healthcare Association Conference. She resides in Easley, SC.

GP McLeer and his wife, Taylor, welcomed their first daughter, Albee James in October. The McLeer family resides in Fountain Inn, SC, where Mr. McLeer is the mayor.

Jodi Morris is a School Counselor for the Grundy County Board of Education. Ms. Morris earned her MEd in school counseling from Liberty University in May 2019. She resides in Monteagle, TN.

Alexa Rosenthal is the Co-Founder of Ecoversity, an online and offline leadership school for inner and outer ecology, based in Punta Mona, Costa Rica. Ms. Rosenthal is preparing to launch a year’s worth of programs and certificates, including a semester gap year program called Semester for Change, and a children’s class, Watch Your Garden Grow. She resides in Philadelphia.

Sam Abrams is a Senior Manager, Omni Experience, for Sephora. Ms. Abrams married Jeffrey Decker ’12 in April 2019. The couple resides in San Francisco.

Sophia Fitzpatrick is an Assistant Principal for Baltimore City Public Schools. Ms. Fitzpatrick earned her MEd in school administration and urban education from The Johns Hopkins University in 2016. She received the Impact, Standards of Success, and Instructional Excellence awards from Baltimore City Schools. Ms. Fitzpatrick resides in Baltimore with her son, Khalil.

Christine Levi is an Associate Attorney for Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in Washington, D.C. She earned her JD from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in 2018.

Andrea Jackson Brady received her Society of Human Resources – Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential earlier this year prompting a promotion to HR and Administration Manager for Total Beverage Solution. She and her husband, Mat, live in Hanahan, SC.

Katreena Mitchell is the owner of Flour Lane Dessert Studio bakery in Atlanta. Ms. Mitchell is also the Program Manager for the Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education. She earned her MPH from Georgia Southern University in 2014. Ms. Mitchell married Taverious Davis in August and the couple resides in Decatur, GA.

Luca Gattoni-Celli is a Senior Research Specialist with the procurement research team for Gartner’s Arlington, VA office. Mr. Gattoni-Celli lives with his wife, Laura Joy, and their daughter in Alexandria, VA.

Evan Prostko is the Consulting Supervisor for Kenon Group Consulting in Scottsdale, AZ. Mr. Prostko resides in Phoenix and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Anthony Horton completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Hospital in June and began a fellowship in gastroenterology at Duke in July. Dr. Horton earned his MD from the University of South Carolina in 2017, and resides in Durham, NC.

Amanda Rice is a Planner for the County of Greenville in South Carolina. Ms. Rice earned her MS in urban and regional planning from Alabama A&M University in 2019.

Ty Robinson married Andrea Lavieri ’15 in October at the Creek Cub at I’On in Mount Pleasant, SC. Mr. Robinson is an Attorney for Mark C. Tanenbaum, P.A. Law Firm. Ms. Robinson is a Registered Nurse at MUSC’s Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and an Instructor at HYLO Fitness. The couple resides in Mount Pleasant, SC, with their dog, Calhoun.

Shane Alverson is an Associate Attorney for Moore & Van Allen. Mr. Alverson earned his JD from the University of South Carolina in 2018, and his LLM in taxation from New York University in 2020. He resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Ariana Pearsall has been promoted to Sales Manager at Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, SC.

Olivia Zanone is a Sales Development Representative for Gong and resides in Atlanta.

Jordan Bailey is a Project Coordinator for the County of Santa Clara where he has been deployed to coordinate tech projects and contact tracing initiatives that will help aid in slowing the spread of COVID-19 in both the Silicon Valley area and across the state of California. He resides in San Jose, CA.

Davis Bratton has been promoted to Production Manager for K Kane LLC in New York City.

James Paddock is a Logistics Management Specialist for Red Lab Logistics in Charleston, SC.

Carl Wise is the Associate Director of Performance for the South Dakota Mines & Technology’s athletic department in Rapid City, South Dakota. Mr. Wise is studying applied exercise science through Concordia University of Chicago. He is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, USA powerlifting coach, and has completed his Reflexive Performance Reset level 1 certification.
