1979

Elizabeth Colbert-Busch is a Honorary Commander with Joint Base Charleston, which commemorated its C-17A four million flight hour on January 15, with a honor flight to Wilmington, NC. Ms. Colbert-Busch joined local government officials, Boeing executives, community and military leaders for the event. Neysa Williams ’95, community engagement director for Joint Base Charleston, organized the event.

1983

Gary Thomas has been named to the content review panel for the American Society of Clinical Oncology(ASCO) website, cancer.net, pertaining to Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Dr. Thomas is medical director of South Carolina Cancer Specialists with offices in Hilton Head and Bluffton, SC.

Sandy Whitehead Hill is the Director of Human Resources, Southeast, for NFP in Charleston, SC. Ms. Hill and her husband, Chip Hill ’88, live on Daniel Island, SC, with their son, Doscher.

1989

Rhonda Jennings is an Attorney at Jennings Law Firm, P.A. in Charleston, SC.Ms. Jennings earned her JD from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1992. She is announcing the publication of her children’s book, Faith of an Anthill, available on Amazon and at Barnes and Noble. Ms. Jennings lives in Charleston, SC, with her son.

Peter Rourk is the Senior Vice President of Institutional Investments for Cabretta Capital. Mr. Rourk resides in Chapel Hill, NC, with his wife, Karen.

Chris Bain (MS ’94) is the Vice President, Global Corporate Accounts, for Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company based in Minneapolis, MN. Mr. Bain won the Summit Achievement Award for Sales Excellence in 2016 from Nalco. He earned his MS in marine biology from the University of Charleston in 1994. Mr. Bain lives in Richmond, KY, with his wife Amy Fugate Bain ’93, and their daughter.

Stewart Morrison Rowe is the Market Director for The Princeton Review. Ms. Rowe earned her MPA from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte in 2001. She and her husband, Rick, reside in Charlotte, NC, and have five children.

Marty Stockdale is a Customer Consultant for Sutherland Global. Mr. Stockdale is a US Navy Veteran and was awarded the Campaign Badge for service during the Gulf War in 1991. He and his wife, Christine, reside in Coral Springs, FL.

Bradley Vermilion is a Licensed Agent with Progressive in Mayfield Village, OH. Mr. Vermilion and his wife, Michelle, live in Twinsburg, OH, with their two sons.

Jamey Hancock is the Chief Technology Officer for Trellus Health, Inc. Mr. Hancock and his wife, Inness Gilbert Hancock ’96, reside in Bedford, NY, with their two sons.

Catherine Wade Oliver is the Owner of Amelia Adventures, an adventure tour company in Fernandina Beach, FL. Ms. Oliver earned her BSN from East Tennessee State University in 2006. She and her husband, Thomas Oliver ’98, reside in Fernandina Beach, FL, with their two daughters.

Ray Berrouët is the Director of Branding and Public Relations for Arkonik. Mr. Berrouët and his wife, Nicolette, reside in North Charleston, SC, with their two children.

Scott Bruemmer is a First Officer (Pilot) for Southwest Airlines and resides in Charleston, SC.

Amanda Deaton Margetts is the National Director, SVP, for Jones Lang LaSalle. She married JD Margetts in 2017 and the couple welcomed their first child, Lillian Elise Margetts in July 2020. The Margetts family resides in Dallas.

Matt Reeves is the Manager, Global Channel Development, for Allison Transmission, Inc., in Indianapolis. He resides in Zionsville, IN, with his wife, Claire, and their three children.

Mariel Davis Johnson is a Speech-Language Pathologist for the NYC Department of Education. She earned her MS in childhood education from the City College of New York (2005) and her MS in communication disorders from Western Kentucky University (2012). Ms. Johnson and her husband, Reginald, live in New Rochelle, NY, with their two children.

2003

Angharad Chester-Jones is the US Communications Officer for GenesisCare based in Fort Meyers, FL. Ms. Chester-Jones is studying strategic communications at the University of Minnesota with plans to graduate in 2022. She married Anshul Bhardwaj in December 2019 and the couple lives in Salt Lake City, UT.

Jeff Files is the President of Integrity Locums, an award-winning, full-service, locum tenens (temporary service) staffing firm based in Centennial, CO. Mr. Files was named Staffing Industry Analyst’s top 40 under 40 in North America in 2018 and 2019. He resides in Denver, with his wife, Allison, and their three children.

Cassy Sleeper is the Director of Strategic Relationship for A Kid Again, a non-profit organization for families raising children who are battling life-threatening conditions that provides ongoing, cost-free, adventures for the entire family. Ms. Sleeper resides in Columbus, OH.

Yaron Gutkin is the Managing Director of Outsorted (Pty) Ltd in South Africa. Mr. Gutkin, and his wife, Kim, reside in Johannesburg, South Africa, with their two children, Ayden and Yekara.

Cathy James Matheson is the Founder and Principal of CMC Hospitality, LLC, a leisure sales and marketing hospitality consulting company in Charleston, SC. Ms. Matheson is also the Director of Leisure Sales at The Dewberry Charleston. She resides in Mount Pleasant, SC, with her husband, Patrick, and their two daughters.

Leigh Page was promoted to Vice President for CCS, a philanthropy consulting firm. Ms. Page relocated to Sydney, Australia, to manage the firm’s business in Australia and Asia.

Erin Smith Lykon is the Director of Marketing and Branding for the Carolinas Football Club in Charlotte, NC. She married Nicholas Lykon in 2015 and they have two children, Louisa and Nicholas. The Lykon family resides in Denver, NC.

Ashley Carroll is the Compliance and HR Manager for Tusco, Inc. Ms. Carroll earned her paralegal certification from Oklahoma State University in 2012, and is currently studying business at the University of Alabama. She resides in Eutaw, AL, with her two daughters.

Alex Jackson (MA ’14) is the Chief of Media for the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic in North Charleston, SC.

Rose Porter was the Teacher of the Year for Northwoods Middle School in the Charleston County School District for the 2019-2020 school year. Ms. Porter is the ELA Department Chair, 6th Grade Chair, and Team Lead/Mentor. She resides in North Charleston, SC, with her two sons.

Maggie Hendricks Roudsari is the Chief Development Officer for the Gulf of Maine Research Institute in Portland. She married Moraud Roudsari in 2015 and the couple resides in Cape Elizabeth, ME.

Meredith Cox is an Account Sales Manager for the Charlotte Convention Center in North Carolina.

Ellie Flock was promoted to Senior Programme Management Associate for Chemonics International in the UK Division. Ms. Flock earned her MSc in global health from King’s College London in 2017. She resides in Baltimore.

Wyman King is a Senior Accountant for Precision BioSciences, Inc., in Durham, NC. He earned his MPA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. In 2018, Mr. King became a Certified Public Accountant. He resides in Raleigh, NC.

Julia Neumann is a Junior Expert, International Residential Real Estate Investors, for Deutsche Kreditbank in Berlin, Germany. She earned her MS in business administration from the Business School of Berlin in 2020.

Ellyn Ahlemeyer independently published a poetry book titled “The Water That Flows From My Lips” which identifies as non-fiction, raw poetry. Ms. Ahlemeyer resides in Bangkok, Thailand.

Chris Bailey is the Copy and Content Specialist for TrendyMinds. Mr. Bailey won two Charleston AMA Spark! Awards for his work with Charleston Wine + Food. He resides in Charleston, SC.

Emma Milano is an Administrative Assistant at the Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. Ms. Milano resides in Medford, NJ.

Carlin Nelson is a Program Coordinator for MUSC and an Office Manager for CofC. He earned his MPH in epidemiology from MUSC in 2020, and is studying at Walden University currently with plans to earn his PhD in 2024. Mr. Nelson resides in Charleston, SC.
