1960

Britton Taylor is a retired Physician living in Rocky Mount, NC, with his wife, Julie. Dr. Taylor earned his MD from the Medical College of Virginia in 1963. He has been a generous supporter of our alma mater for many years, donating most recently to the CofC Fund.

1984

Karen Ipock Hodgin is a Set Direction Buyer for multiple film and TV production companies. Ms. Hodgin studied Theatrical Set Design at Brooklyn College. She resides in Wilmington, NC, with her husband, Timothy. Ms. Hodgin donates to the College each year. Most recently she gave to the CofC Fund for scholarships, sponsoring a graduate’s chair at May Commencement through Share Your Chair.

1986

Joseph Anderson is the Lowcountry Regional Medical Director for Doctors Care Urgent Care Centers. In 1990, Dr. Anderson earned his MD from Uniformed Services University. He later earned his MPH from Harvard School of Public Health in 2001. Dr. Anderson resides in Charleston, SC, with his wife, Regina, and their two children, Anna Anderson Shuler ’14 and Joseph Benson Anderson, Jr. He is a stalwart annual donor to CofC, supporting the CofC Fund as well as his parents’ scholarship, the James P. and Carolyn N. Anderson Endowed Scholarship.

1988

Sarah Elkins obtained an ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition certificate (IT Service Management framework) in June 2022. Ms. Elkins is the Configuration Manager for GDIT and resides in Gaithersburg, MD. She gives back to the College regularly, most recently to the Alumni Fund supporting scholarships for students.

Sheila Garrick Freeman is the second female runner from the state of Alabama to complete the six Abbott World Marathon majors. Ms. Freeman has completed Chicago (2013), New York City (2016), Tokyo and Berlin (2018), London (2019), and Boston (2020 and 2021). She is a Physical Therapy Management Reviewer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama. Ms. Freeman resides in Vestavia Hill, AL, with her husband, John, and their two children, Carson and Rebecca.

1994

Dana Edwards is the Global Chief Product and Technology Officer of Simply Business, based in London. Ms. Edwards earned her MBA from Queens University in 2006. She married Miranda Chang in December 2021. Ms. Edwards has two children, Claire and Brennan, and resides in Narberth, PA.

1996

Sue Mills Campbell is a Real Estate Broker Associate for Coldwell Banker Realty. She resides in Mount Pleasant, SC, and has two sons, Charles and Austin.

Dawn Zmuda Duran is an Adjunct Instructor at Purdue University Global. Ms. Duran’s husband, Gabe, recently retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant after over 20 years of service. The couple has two sons and reside in Fort Meade, MD.

1998

Jamel Major is an HER Site Specialist at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. Dr. Major graduated from The University of Memphis in 2020 with his EdD. He resides in North Charleston, SC.

Ev Springer Platt is an ELA Middle School Teacher at the Cooper School in Charleston, SC. Ms. Platt earned her EdD in educational leadership from Liberty University in 2019 and her MEd in education from the College in 1997. She and her husband, Marion, have two sons, Joshuah and Zion.

Amy Rush Sheppard is the Business Account Manager for The Graphic Cow. Ms. Sheppard resides in Greenville, SC, with her two children, William and Elizabeth.

Christa DiPasquale Van Strien is the Manager, Campaign Development, for CureSearch for Children’s Cancer. Ms. Van Strien resides in Goose Creek, SC, with her husband, Andrew.

1999

Carey Ann Daniel Campbell is the CEO of Southern Tide. Ms. Campbell resides in Greenville, SC, with her husband, Michael P. Campbell ’97, and their daughter, Eleanor. The Campbells are generous supporters of our alma mater, giving most recently to the Alumni Fund, the Student Emergency Fund, Women’s Tennis, and the Cougar Club.

Carolus Daniel I is the Senior Finance Administrator for the Jacksonville Port Authority and is a CPA. Mr. Daniel is studying leadership at Florida Gulf Coast University with plans to graduate with his MBA in 2023. He resides in St. Johns, FL, with his wife, Erin, and their two daughters, Elliana and Elizabeth. Mr. Daniel recently donated to the Greek Leadership Fund through the Alumni Pep Supper campaign.

Stephanie Heape-Reller is the CEO of Integrative Consulting Solutions, LLC, in Jacksonville, FL. She and her husband, Captain Jason Reller, USN, have two children, Quinn and Brew.

Josh Padgett is the Director of Fine Arts at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg, SC. Dr. Padgett earned his EdD in professional leadership from Converse University in May.

Micah Stringer, of Mount Pleasant, SC, is the Senior Vice President of Renasant Bank. Mr. Stringer and his wife, Kara, have two children, Regan and Quinn.

2000

Laura Clark Beery owns Laura Beery Real Estate in Wilmington, NC. Ms. Beery earned her MBA from the University of Hawaii Manoa in 2004. She and her spouse have four children, Clark, Mash, Eleanor, and Hazel. Ms. Beery recently donated to the CofC Fund for scholarships, sponsoring a graduate’s chair at May Commencement through the Share Your Chair campaign.

Missy Iredell Gebhardt and her family recently moved back to her hometown of Cleveland, OH, where she returned to her Alma Mater, Hathaway Brown School, to serve as their Director of Alumnae Engagement.

Kate Thompson Tong is the Global Head of Regional Marketing for Grafana Labs. Ms. Tong and her husband, David, reside in Aldie, VA, with their two daughters, Aubrey and Ainsley.

2003

Brooke MacDonald Grow is the Communications Manager for the Virginia Department of Transportation. Ms. Grow is currently managing the HRBT Expansion Project in Hampton Roads, Virginia, the largest project ever in the commonwealth of Virginia. She and her husband, Mike, reside in Virginia Beach, VA, with their two children, Vaughn and Sloane. Ms. Grow generously donated to the CofC Fund this year to support scholarships at the College.

Erin Gravino Jeffords accepted a full-time faculty tole as Assistant of Occupational Therapy at Lenoir-Rhyne University on the Columbia, SC, campus. Ms. Jeffords is also working on a new HUD federal grant on home modification for low-income seniors with SC Uplift. She earned her MS in rehabilitation, occupational therapy from MUSC in 2009. Ms. Jeffords and her husband, William, have one daughter, Allie.

2004

Teddy McRackan was awarded the 2022 Mosher Award from the Triological Society. Dr. McRackan’s thesis was on the development and implementation of the Cochlear Implant Quality of Life Functional Staging System. He is a Physician at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC. Dr. McRackan earned his MD from MUSC in 2008. He and his wife, Estee, have three children, Ira, Saul, and Noa, and reside in Charleston, SC.

2005

Jen Andrews is the Assistant Astronomer at NOIRLab Gemini-N in Hawaii. Dr. Andrews earned her PhD in astrophysics in 2011 from Louisiana State University. She resides in Pahoa, HI.

2006

Travis Petro is working as a Property Manager with Host2Coast and recently obtained his SC Real Estate License. Mr. Petro joined the local, state, and national Association of Realtors. He resides on Hilton Head Island, SC. Mr. Petro recently donated to the CofC Fund to support scholarships, sponsoring a graduate’s chair at May Commencement through the Share Your Chair campaign.

2007

Jessica Forman Norwood, of Wake Forest, NC, is the 2022 Movers & Shakers Award Winner by Cary Magazine. Ms. Norwood’s first children’s book, published in 2020, was featured on LIVE with Kelly and Ryan on ABC in 2021. She published her second children’s book earlier this year. Ms. Norwood is a Global Sales Content Strategist for Cisco. She and her husband, Brandon, have two children, Aston and Roman.

2008

Rebecca Nace-Grover is a Senior Underwriter, US Renewables, for AXIS Capital in New York City. Ms. Nace-Grover and her husband, Chinku, welcomed their daughter, Layla Lou Grover, in February 2021. She has generously given back to our alma mater supporting the CofC Fund, which provides scholarships.

2009

Mary Catherine Campbell McCarty and husband, James, welcomed their second daughter, Emily Mae, in September 2021. Ms. McCarty is a Project Accountant for the SC State Ports Authority. Her daughter Emily joins older sister, Olivia, and the McCarty family resides in Summerville, SC.

Emily Gould Wilson is the Director of Marketing and Communications for Columbia College. Ms. Wilson and her husband, Herb, welcomed their first son, Bennett James Wilson, in September 2021. The Wilson family resides in West Columbia, SC.

2010

Jess Bursack Benoit is the Director of Sustainability for The HC Companies, Inc. Ms. Benoit is studying sustainability at Harvard University with plans to graduate with her MA in 2023. She resides in Shaker Heights, OH, with her husband, Austin, and their son, Grayson. Ms. Benoit recently donated to the CofC Fund to support scholarships, sponsoring a graduate’s chair at May Commencement through the Share Your Chair campaign.

Andrew Siegrist, an Author from Nashville, TN, was awarded the 2020 C. Michael Curtis Short Story Book Prize for his most recent fiction book, We Imagined It Was Rain. Mr. Siegrist’s work has appeared in The Baltimore Review, Arts & Letters, The Greensboro Review, Pembroke Magazine, Fiction Southeast, Bat City Review, and more.

2011

Todd Cooper is a member of the U.S. Coast Guard and resides in Milwaukie, OR.

Jaxie Eby Ferguson welcomed her first child, Roy Austin Ferguson, in December 2021 with her husband, Ryan. Ms. Ferguson is the Behavioral Health Care Manager for Humana, Inc. She earned her MSW in 2015 from the University of South Carolina. The Ferguson family resides in Charleston, SC. Ms. Ferguson is a generous annual donor to our alma mater, most recently supporting the CofC Fund for scholarships, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Psychology Department.

Christina Ziegenfus Gehricke and her husband, Richard, welcomed their third child, Charley Kathleen Gehricke, in November 2019. Charley joins older siblings Evelyn and Richard. The Gehricke family resides in Greer, SC.

2012

John Fludd is a Corporate Accountant for MUSC and resides in Summerville, SC. Mr. Fludd earned his MBA from The Citadel in 2021.

2014

Rachel Pirkkala married Joshua Woods in March 2022. The couple resides in Charleston, SC.

2015

Reba Joe Carroll Daniels and her husband, Cannaan, welcomed their first daughter, Jolene Jay Daniels, in August 2021. Ms. Daniels moved across the country to accept her current role as Departmental Advisor, Sociology, at the University of Illinois. In 2019, she earned her MA in higher education administration from Stephen F. Austin State University. The Daniels family resides in Urbana, IL.

Kayla Bogad Esan and her husband, Nadav, have relocated to Sunrise, FL, where she is a Senior Stewardship Officer at the University of Miami. Ms. Eson generously donates to the College’s Jewish Studies Program and the Hospitality and Tourism Management Program.

Millie Thomas married Tanner Oldham in April 2021. Ms. Thomas is a Clinical Pharmacist at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Spencer Ward is studying education learning, instruction, and innovation at Walden University with plans to graduate with his PhD in 2024. Ms. Ward earned his MEd in curriculum and instruction, STEAM education, from Concordia University in 2019. She resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.

2016

Deniz Houston recently graduated from John’s Hopkins with her MEPP in European public policy. Ms. Houston works for the Intel Corporation in Global Government Affairs. She resides in Washington, D.C.

Wyman King married Olivia Lassiter in May. Mr. King is the Assistant Controller at Precision BioSciences and earned his MPA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. The couple resides in Raleigh, NC. Mr. King is an annual donor to our alma mater and has supported a variety of programs since graduating, including the Accounting and Business Law Fund, the Center for the Study of Slavery in Charleston, the Finance Fund, and the Greg Padgett Scholarship for Accounting.

2017

Kara Ard married Hunter Lowe in April 2020. Ms. Ard is studying at Southern New Hampshire University with plans to graduate with her MBA in 2023. The couple resides in Florence, SC.

Sierra Debrow earned her MSW from Washington University in St. Louis in 2021 and is now a Community Planning Associate for the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City. Ms. Debrow resides in Overland Park, KS.

Christian Jablonski earned his MS in sports management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2021. Mr. Jablonski relocated to Houston where he is the Business Development Manager, Texans Luxe, for the Houston Texans. Since graduating in 2017, he has donated each year to the CofC Fund, the Alumni Fund, and Alumni Association Fund, supporting scholarships and programs at the College.

Justin Yarbro recently moved from solar PV financing to traditional banking and works as the Business Financial Center Manager for HomeTrust Bank. Mr. Yarbro married Tipton Braswell in January 2019 and the couple resides in Huntersville, NC.

2019

Kellam Addison is studying occupational therapy at Baylor University with plans to graduate in December. Ms. Addison married Samuel McQuitty in November 2019. The couple resides in Killeen, TX.

Elyse Ehrnschwender is a Financial Analyst for Honeywell and resides in Atlanta.

Skyler Gonzalez is a Marketing Specialist for Samsung in Los Angeles.

Joanna Rothell, of Camden, SC, is the Director of Outreach and Preservation for Preservation South Carolina.

2020

Abby Ballou is the Store Manager of Scotch & Soda, LLC, and resides in North Charleston, SC. She most recently donated to the Alumni Association Fund, supporting programs and scholarships at the College.

Josh Bowman is a Registered Nurse at MUSC and resides in Ridgeville, SC.

Etta Elliott just started as a Visual Effects Production Assistant for Netflix and resides in Sullivan’s Island, SC.

Allison Hager is a General Accountant for Giant Cement Holdings, Inc. and resides in Cross, SC.

Mary Rinne Jackson is the new Marketing & Philanthropy coordinator for First Tee – Triangle in Raleigh, NC. Ms. Jackson began donating to the College while still a student and has consistently supported our alma mater through the Alumni Fund, the CofC Fund, and the School of Business Fund.

2021

Kennedy Drew is studying nursing at MUSC with plans to graduate with her BSN in 2023. Ms. Drew recently donated to the Alumni Fund.

Joe Velazquez is an Investment Associate for Marcus & Millichap and resides in McClellanville, SC.

2022

Brooke Lawrence is working towards her MS in intelligence and security studies at The Citadel with plans to graduate in 2024. She resides in Tega Cay, SC. Ms. Lawrence recently donated to the Alumni Association Fund, supporting programs and scholarships at the College.

Georges Mahama is an Analyst for East Rock Capital and resides in Sullivan’s Island, SC. Mr. Mahama began donating to our alma mater while still a student, giving generously to the Kerrigan Investment Project Support Fund, the NGAL Project, and the Alumni Fund.
